Woman facing death by drunk driving after Pensioner dies

A pedestrian has died following a collision in Wandsworth on Tuesday, 4 June. Officers were called at 1.39pm to the collision involving a grey Peugeot 307 and a pedestrian at the junction of McDermott Close and Ingrave Street, SW11. A man aged in his 80s was taken to a south London hospital suffering serious injuries. He later died from during the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, 5 June) and his next of kin are being supported by specially trained officers. The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 40s, stopped at the scene and was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance. She has since been released under investigation. Enquiries continue. Any witnesses or anyone with information or dash cam or CCTV footage are asked to call the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 02085435157 referencing CAD 3861/4 June.
