Kent Police rushed to the scene at 5.17am on Tuesday 11 June after reports of a distressed man spotted on a footbridge over the motorway near Swanley. The shocking sight forced authorities to slam both carriageways shut, causing major disruption.
Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase
The man eventually left the footbridge and fled on foot. Police pursued him onto the M2, where he was arrested following a brief chase. Thankfully, no one was hurt during the incident.
Traffic Resumes After Hours of Closure
After hours of delays and investigations, both sides of the M25 reopened at around 9.30am, easing the frustration of thousands of stranded drivers.
