Cyclist left with life changing injuries following collision in Dagenham

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a cyclist was seriously injured following a collision in Dagenham. Officers were called at 10.24pm on Saturday, 10 August to reports of a car in collision with a cyclist in Valence Avenue, junction with Green Lane, Dagenham. London Ambulance Service also attended and the cyclist, a man believed aged in his 20s, was taken to an east London hospital for treatment; he remains there in a critical condition. Enquiries are underway to locate and inform his next of kin. The driver of the car was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving – he remains in custody. Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit investigate and ask anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident, to contact them via 101 and quote CAD 7749/10Aug.
