Police probe Otham Road rage attack

An appeal for information has been issued after a motorist was reportedly assaulted by another driver near Maidstone. At around 9.10am on Wednesday 4 December 2019, a woman was driving along Simmonds Lane, Otham when she pulled over to allow an approaching vehicle to pass. It is understood the other driver stopped his light blue car, got out and was involved in an altercation with the woman who had also got out of her vehicle. It is alleged the man was then involved in a collision with the victim and her car as he drove off. She has since received medical treatment for minor injuries. The man is described as being white, in his late 50s or early 60s, 5ft 8in tall and with grey hair. He was wearing glasses, a blue top and tracksuit bottoms. Inspector Mark Hedges of the Maidstone Community Safety Unit said: ‘The suspect was possibly driving a Ford Focus with a partial number plate similar to KY07. ‘Investigators would like to hear from anybody who may know the driver or might have seen the vehicle in the Otham area. Anyone who was in the village at the time of the incident with dash cam fitted to their vehicle should also get in contact.’ Anyone with information is asked to call Kent Police on 01622 604 100 crime reference quoting 46/231387/19.
