London Man Convicted of Shocking Rape and Abuse Spree
Alan Mackey Found Guilty of Multiple Horrific Crimes
Alan Mackey, 37, from London Road, Croydon, was nailed on six counts of rape. A Kingston Crown Court jury also found him guilty of two counts of fraud, two counts of controlling or coercive behaviour, blackmail, assault causing bodily harm (ABH), and theft. The verdict came down on Friday, 13 December after a tense trial.
Victim Held Hostage and Abused
The victim’s family reported her missing on Friday, 7 June. Police tracked her down the next day at a Richmond hotel. She revealed to officers a harrowing ordeal. Mackey had held her captive, repeatedly raped her, and violently assaulted her, leaving her with visible facial injuries.
Fraud and Blackmail Exposed
Mackey, already known to the victim with a history of threats, exploited her even further. He stole her bank card to pay for the hotel stay and goods from a local shop. The twisted crime spree ended when police arrested Mackey on 8 June. He remains in custody awaiting sentencing on 10 January 2020.
