Rotherfield Woman Found Dead: Man Charged with Her Murder
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of beloved Rotherfield woman, Nelly Myers, 58, who was found dead at her home on December 18.
Family Pays Heartbreaking Tribute to Nelly Myers
Nelly’s family described her as a “giving soul” with an “indefatigable spirit” whose sudden loss has left them devastated.
“We are all devastated by the sudden loss of Nelly, our dear mother, sister and friend. She leaves an unfillable void behind, one absent of her incomparable generosity and zest for life.”
“For almost 29 years, Rotherfield was her home where she lovingly raised her two sons with her husband and forged many close bonds. She was deeply devoted to her family in Peru, especially her three brothers, and was always just a call away.”
“Nelly was also an exceptional customer service host at British Airways for nearly 20 years, where she was dearly loved by colleagues. Her beaming smile and playful spirit lit up every room.”
“We are thankful for all the messages of support from across the globe. The outpouring shows how many lives she touched.”
“Losing her in these circumstances is heartbreaking, and we ask for privacy so we can grieve.”
Suspect in Court and Trial Dates Set
Jayesh Gobar, 35, unemployed, from Moorland Road, Maidenbower, Crawley, faced Brighton Magistrates’ Court on December 23 charged with Nelly’s murder.
He was remanded to appear at Lewes Crown Court the following day for plea and trial preparation. His trial is scheduled to start on June 15.
A second man, 37, also from Crawley, arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released without charge.
