Maidstone Pensioner Duped in Parcel Scam

A suspected fraudster has been charged after allegedly conning an elderly man out of over £100 in Maidstone.

How the Scam Went Down

On the morning of 3 January 2020, a woman knocked on the door of a Buckland Road home. An 80-something man answered and was told he owed money for a parcel delivery. Believing the story, he handed over more than £100.

Police Nab Suspect in Parcel Scam

Officers arrested Kathleen Perry, 54, from Acorn Place, Maidstone, on 18 January. She has been charged with fraud by false representation.

Perry was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 10 January.
