Emergency services swarmed the area with paramedics rushing a victim under police escort to Southampton General Hospital. Lindsay Road, Ellwood Avenue, and parts of Solent Avenue down to Marston Road remain cordoned off as detectives launch a full investigation.
Local Residents Shocked by Violent Attack
Witnesses report a shocking scene. Joanne Harrison said, “I was shocked when I opened the curtains this morning—haven’t seen anything like this before.”
Victim in Serious Condition
A Hampshire Police spokeswoman confirmed: “We were called at 6.15am today (Sunday 19 January) to reports of an assault in the Lindsay Road area of Thornhill. On arrival, officers found a 17-year-old boy with a stab wound. He is currently being treated in Southampton General Hospital and is in a serious condition.”
Police expect to keep officers in the area throughout the day and urged the public to remain patient while investigations continue.
