County Lines Drug Dealer Busted and Jailed in Dover
A ruthless county lines dealer pushing heroin and crack cocaine in Dover has been locked up for nearly six years. John Isichei, 21, from Rotherhithe New Road, south-east London, was caught after police traced drug supply texts sent directly to users in Dover.
Text Messages Lead Police to Criminal
In October and November 2019, officers intercepted texts offering Class A drugs through a county lines operation. CCTV footage in a Canterbury supermarket showed Isichei topping up one of the phones used to send the messages, tying him to the criminal activity.
Fleeing Dealer Caught and Sentenced
Kent Police and the Met swooped on Isichei’s London home. Although he tried to run, he was quickly arrested. Two phones linked to the drugs texts were seized. Isichei admitted to supplying Class A drugs and also breached a suspended sentence.
At Canterbury Crown Court on 10 February 2020, Isichei was sentenced to five years and ten months: 54 months for drug offences and 16 months for the suspended sentence breach.
Police Vow to Crack Down Hard
Detective Constable Jake Griffiths said: “This sentence sends out the message that tough punishments await those who prey on the vulnerable in Kent. We will continue to clamp down on county lines groups who sow misery in our communities by arresting anyone we suspect of involvement and seeking their prosecution.”
