Manhunt Underway for Hit-and-Run Scumbag in Fatal Dagenham Crash
Police are urgently hunting a man who fled the scene after a deadly collision in Dagenham. Detectives have released images and footage, pleading for the public’s help to identify this key suspect.
Fatal Crash on Heathway
The horror unfolded just after 6am on Thursday, April 30, at the junction of Heathway and Oxlow Lane. Two cars—a white Mercedes C220 Sport and a white Ford B-Max—crashed. Tragically, the 57-year-old driver of the Ford died instantly at the scene. His family has been informed.
The occupants of the Mercedes bolted on foot, vanishing from the scene immediately after the smash.
Police Release Shocking Footage
Detective Sergeant Mark Palmer of the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said, “I’m appealing urgently to anyone who recognises the man pictured to come forward. He left the area straight after the collision and could hold vital information.”
Police suspect the man captured on camera is linked to the crash and could crack the case wide open.
Calling Witnesses and Dash-Cam Owners
Officers are also keen to speak with anyone who saw the collision or anything leading up to it. DS Palmer added: “We believe another vehicle, possibly a dark-coloured BMW, was nearby during the crash. If you were that driver or saw what happened, we want to hear from you now.”
Got dash-cam footage? This could be the breakthrough police need.
