Man Shot in Croydon as Police Hunt Gunman
Detectives are urgently appealing for information after a man was shot in Croydon in the early hours of Saturday, August 1.
Gunfire Rocks London Road
Police were called to London Road at 1.41am following reports of gunshots. Officers and the London Ambulance Service found a man suffering gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.
Mysterious Hit-and-Run Near the Scene
Just five minutes later, at around 1.46am, emergency services responded to a crash on nearby Morland Road. Two cars collided, but the occupants of one vehicle — a black Vauxhall Astra — fled without leaving any details.
The other vehicle’s three passengers suffered minor injuries. Police are probing whether the crash and the shooting are connected.
Police Plead for Dashcam Footage and Tips
Detective Inspector Daniel McInerney said: “This is a serious crime and my team and I are determined to find who is responsible. I urge anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward — you can help keep our communities safe.

No arrests have been made yet. Police investigations are ongoing.
