Andrew Forbes, 39, of Crome Road, Norwich, pleaded guilty to Daniel’s murder at Norwich Crown Court on 3 December 2020. The pair lived together and had been out late on Sunday night, 21 June.

A female friend last saw them on Aylsham Road just after midnight. Hours later, Forbes rang her to confess: he said he had killed someone.

Confession Leads Police to Victim

  • Forbes returned home and told another person about the killing.
  • Police were called before 4.45am.
  • Forbes admitted to officers that he had killed Daniel Littlewood, offering his hands for arrest.
  • He guided police to the body hidden nearby.

Forbes told cops he used a cement brick found on the ground to strike Daniel after being upset by a comment about his drug habit.

Sentencing Set as Family Seeks Closure

Forbes faces sentencing on Tuesday 19 January 2021. Chief Inspector Phil Gray said: “Forbes made no secret of his brutal actions from the outset. This was a shocking and unprovoked attack on someone he would have regarded as a friend.”

He added, “Our thoughts remain with Mr Littlewood’s family and I am pleased that today’s plea means they will not have to endure the ordeal of a trial.”
