At around 7.30pm, diners in nearby restaurants were swiftly evacuated as police dealt with the suspect item found close to the bridge near the station.
Train Services Disrupted
All train services in and out of Charing Cross were suspended. Trains were either held at stations or diverted to other London terminals, causing major travel delays.
