School Bus Pervert’s Jail Time Doubled After Solicitor General Steps In
A school bus driver caught snapping upskirt photos of young girls and trying to arrange a child sex offence has had his jail sentence doubled. Robert Woolner, 54, faces 2 years and 6 months behind bars after a court ruling upgrade.
Undercover Sting Nets Sick Bus Driver
Woolner was busted chatting about oral sex with who he thought was a 13-year-old boy. In reality, it was an undercover cop. The predator was arrested at the arranged meeting spot.
Disturbing Evidence Found on Bus Driver’s Phone
- Extreme pornographic material
- Three videos secretly filmed under schoolgirls’ skirts as they left the bus
He was originally jailed for just 12 months at St Albans Crown Court in July for: attempting to arrange or facilitate a child sex offence, possessing extreme porn, and multiple counts of illicit voyeurism.
Solicitor General Demands Tougher Punishment
The Rt Hon Michael Ellis QC MP intervened through the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme, pushing for a harsher sentence. The Court of Appeal agreed, boosting Woolner’s sentence to over two years.
“The offender was caught trying to sexually exploit a vulnerable child, as well as taking advantage of young school children. It is therefore important that his sentence truly reflects the gravity of his crimes, and I am pleased that the judge has agreed to increase the offender’s sentence.” – Solicitor General Michael Ellis
