Woman Raped in Portsmouth – Police Hunt Witnesses and CCTV
Police are urgently appealing for witnesses and any dash cam or CCTV footage after a 19-year-old woman was raped in Portsmouth in the early hours of September 20.
Attack on Lake Road and Turner Road
The victim was walking along Lake Road when two unknown men approached her. They followed her to nearby Turner Road, where the horrific attack took place.
Specialist officers are supporting the woman as the investigation continues.
Detective Pleads for Public Help
“This has been a very distressing incident for the victim and I want to urge anyone who may be able to assist our enquiries to get in contact with us as soon as possible,” said Detective Inspector Emma Crute.
“We believe the men were disturbed by a car driving nearby just before 1am. If you drove along Turner Road around this time or saw two men acting suspiciously on Lake Road in the hour before, please contact us immediately.”
“Residents with CCTV outside their homes on Lake Road or Turner Road are asked to check for any footage that might help.”
“You may see officers in the area conducting enquiries. If you have any information at all, no matter how small, please speak to them or call us. Every clue could be crucial.”
