Swindon Bus Driver Punched and Intimidated Over Mask Row
Police want to speak to a man after a violent outburst on a Swindon bus. The incident happened around 6pm on Thursday, 13 August at a bus stop on Fleming Way.
Mask Clash Turns Ugly
The man became verbally aggressive when the bus driver asked him to wear a mask. Things quickly escalated. He punched the plastic screen and ticket machine right in front of the driver. Then, as he stormed off the bus, he smashed the wing mirror.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
PC Emma Rossiter said: “The actions of this man were extremely aggressive and caused significant criminal damage to the bus. Although shaken, the driver was unharmed.”
She added: “We’d like to speak to any passengers who were on the bus at the time. The man was loud and aggressive, so someone must remember him. If you were on the bus on 13 August around 6pm, please come forward.”
