Second Man Charged After Teen Tragically Dies in Warley Crash

A second man has been charged following a fatal collision in Warley that claimed the life of a teenage boy.

Teenager Hurt in Hartswood Road Smash

The youngster was rushed to hospital after a crash on Hartswood Road at around 2.30pm on 19 September. Despite emergency treatment, he sadly passed away on 24 September.

Billericay Man Faces Serious Charges

A 27-year-old man from Billericay was arrested last Friday. He now faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to provide driver information, and aggravated vehicle taking.

He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court and is set to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 23 October.

Earlier Arrest Amid Ongoing Investigation

Before the teen’s death, a 28-year-old man was charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, failing to stop after a collision, and driving uninsured.

Police are working with the Crown Prosecution Service to review and potentially update the charges following the teen’s tragic death.
