Fresh Charges in Brutal Stabbing Case

Five men were arrested last Friday, 9 October, and charged with the murder of 19-year-old Mohammed Usman Mirza, who was fatally stabbed in Ilford back in November 2019.

Court Appearances and Next Steps

All five appeared in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 10 October. They have been remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 13 October.

Tragic Night in November 2019

Mohammed Mirza was found with fatal stab wounds on Fullwell Avenue at 10.20pm on 19 November 2019. Paramedics tried to save him, but he was dead at the scene.

Ongoing Investigation

The murder probe is being led by Met Police’s Specialist Crime Command. Two others are already charged in connection to the case: a 16-year-old boy facing murder charges, and a 21-year-old man charged with murder and knife possession. Both remain on remand awaiting trial.
