Tragic Death of 21-Year-Old Pedestrian in Sutton Hit-and-Run

Detectives have identified the young woman killed in a hit-and-run collision in Sutton as 21-year-old Rhiannon Hall from Surrey.

Crash Details and Arrest

Police were called at around 10:15pm on Friday, 16 October after reports of a car smashing into a pedestrian on London Road, near Garth Road in Cheam.

Emergency crews rushed Rhiannon to a south London hospital. Sadly, she later died from her injuries.

The driver fled the scene but was caught shortly after on suspicion of drink driving. He was taken in for questioning and has since been released under investigation.

Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Constable Jenny Burr from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“Our thoughts are with Rhiannon’s family and friends at this truly tragic time.

We are determined to find out exactly what happened. We urge anyone with dash cam footage or information, no matter how small, to come forward. You could help bring answers to a grieving family and aid our investigation.”
