Man Charged with Murder After Woman Found Dead in Chessington
Tragedy in Chessington
Detectives have charged a man over the death of a woman in Chessington. Keith Bettison, 71, of Raynard Close, was arrested and will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 2 November.
Police Called to Disturbing Scene
Officers were called just after 1am on Saturday, 31 October following concerns for a woman’s welfare at a home in Raynard Close. Emergency services arrived swiftly, but a 48-year-old woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Ongoing Murder Investigation
The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. The Met’s Specialist Crime Command (Homicide) is leading the probe, promising a thorough investigation into this grim case.
