Van Hijacked at Machete-Point in Broad Daylight
A terrifying ordeal unfolded at 5.30pm on Sunday, 1 November 2020, when a man in his 20s stopped his silver Ford Transit van on Arne Avenue – only to be confronted by five men, one of whom brandished a machete.
Masked Men Attack Driver and Steal Van
The gang ordered the victim out of the vehicle. Without hesitation, the machete-wielding attacker jumped into the driver’s seat and sped off towards Herbert Avenue. Meanwhile, the other four suspects walked off the scene in the opposite direction.
Police Hunt Suspects with Distinctive Tattoos
- One suspect is described as a white male in his 20s.
- He has a distinctive tattoo circling his eye and along the side of his face.
- Believed to be missing a tooth.
Urgent Appeal from Dorset Police
Detective Sergeant Karen Penn of Dorset Police’s Priority Crime Team said: “A full investigation is underway. We have carried out house-to-house enquiries to track down the five men.
Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident must come forward. Residents with CCTV cameras, please check footage from around the time of the theft.
