Teen Extreme Right-Winger Jailed for Terror Plot

A 17-year-old boy from Rugby with hardcore far-right views has been locked up for terrorism offences. Paul Dunleavy was handed a hefty five-and-a-half-year sentence today (Friday 6 November) for collecting terrorism information and plotting attacks.

Dark Online Life and Terrorist Plans

Dunleavy joined the extreme right wing group Feuerkrieg Division (FKD) online in July 2019. He bragged about converting a blank firing gun into a real firearm and offered to build weapons for others. Police found over 90 documents on firearms, explosives, and military tactics on his phone, alongside extreme right wing propaganda and chilling chat messages.

Shockingly, his phone contained videos of deadly mass shootings, including the Christchurch mosque massacre in New Zealand, the El Paso Texas shooting, Dayton Garlic festival attack, and the Norway terror attack by Anders Breivik.

Weapons and Nazi Worship Discovered

A search of his bedroom turned up knives, air rifles, shotgun cartridges, bullet casings, camouflage paint, face coverings, tools, camping gear, and homemade targets. The teen openly idolised Adolf Hitler and James Mason, with a notebook found covered in swastikas and plans for lone wolf attacks. It even had a logo for an extreme right group he wanted to create.

Detective Chief Superintendent Kenny Bell of West Midlands Counter Terrorism said: “This boy had an unhealthy fascination with global terror attacks and knew exactly where to spread his extreme views online. He believed he could make deadly weapons and help others do the same.”

DCS Bell added that police remain committed to stamping out all forms of extremist terrorism. “These groups are a real threat to public safety. We rely on the public to report suspicious behaviour – it could save lives.”

If you see or hear something suspicious, ACT now and report it confidentially at gov.uk/ACT. In an emergency, always call 999.
