Stepdad Jailed for Manslaughter of Vulnerable Son in Hull Home
Jabulane Abraham Ngcobo, 61, has been found guilty of manslaughter over the death of his 33-year-old stepson, Kabelo Sam Mokoena, at Sheffield Crown Court. The tragic killing took place at their family home on Lee Street, Hull, back in August 2017.
Victim Held in Deadly Headlock
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Cockerill revealed the shocking details: “Sam died as a result of being held around the neck during a confrontation. He was held in a headlock so long and with such pressure that his heart stopped.”
Sam, who battled multiple mental health issues, was described as a vulnerable adult still living under Ngcobo’s roof. The court heard Ngcobo resented Sam’s illness and had created a miserable, tense household.
Bitterness and Control Led to Fatal Confrontation
