Fox Poisoned in Shocking Pentyrch Mystery
The RSPCA is investigating after a fox was found dead, suspected poisoned, in the Pentyrch area. A local spotted the collapsed animal near Pant-Y-Caerau, Church Road, and alerted the animal welfare charity.
Fourth Dead Fox in Just One Day
RSPCA inspector Gemma Cooper arrived on 12 November only to find the fox had already died. She said, “The symptoms presented by the fox before death would suggest that he died of poisoning, which is very sad.” There were no obvious injuries to explain the death.
Even more worrying, the caller reported this was the fourth fox found dead in the area within 24 hours. “It is unusual for there to have been four foxes found dead in such a short space of time,” Cooper added.
RSPCA Urges Public to Come Forward
The charity is desperate for information to crack this case. Inspector Cooper said, “We are keen to speak to anyone with first-hand knowledge so we can look into it further.”
Poisoning foxes is illegal in the UK. Anyone who suspects a fox has been poisoned should report it immediately by calling the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999.
