Massive Hunt Underway for Missing Boy in Sleepy Kent Village
A quiet village on the edge of Canterbury has been rocked by a major search operation today. Kent Police launched a full-scale hunt after reports of a missing young boy emerged on Saturday.
Helicopter and Dozens of Volunteers Scour Coviet Woods
Officers called in a police helicopter to comb the nearby Coviet Woods, close to Barham village. The rural area, near the A2 between Canterbury and Dover, has become the centre of intense search efforts involving around 50 volunteers from KentSAR (Lowlands Search and Rescue).
Local Tension Rises as Mysterious Cries Heard
A command post has been established outside the village hall near the Post Office. One shaken local, who wished to remain anonymous, reported hearing cries for help near their home at around 8.30pm. They also reported a loud bang, though it’s unclear if these sounds are linked to the ongoing search.
Numerous police vehicles and search and rescue ambulances are parked on Valley Road, maintaining a vigilant presence as the hunt continues.
Kent Police have been contacted for an official statement about the operation.
