Knife Attack Sparks Heavy Police Action in Reading
Police have slammed a Section 60 stop-and-search order over Reading after a man in his twenties was stabbed in broad daylight.

The victim was knifed around 1:45pm on Thursday at Battle Square, just off Oxford Road. Thankfully, his injury is serious but not life-threatening. He was rushed to hospital and has since been discharged.
Three Arrests Made – Police Stay on High Alert
In response, authorities arrested three suspects linked to the attack. To clamp down on further violence, a Section 60 order came into force at 5pm yesterday and has been extended until 5pm tomorrow. Cops will review it then and could prolong it if needed.
Stop and Search Zone Covers Central Reading and Surrounds
The order covers a broad area, including:
- Reading centre
- Oxford Road
- Tilehurst Road
- Bath Road
- A3290 boundary to London Road roundabout
- Across the River Thames into Lower Caversham and the Thames & Kennet Marina
- Northumberland Avenue, Elgar Road, Church Road to the A3290 boundary
- Caversham Bridge
Residents are advised to stay alert as police ramp up patrols in these hotspots.
