Teen Arrested Over Attempted Murder of 17-Year-Old in South London Stabbing
An 18-year-old has been arrested today, Monday 12 April, on suspicion of attempting to murder 17-year-old James Bascoe-Smith. The suspect remains in custody at a South London police station.

Police rushed to Henry Road, SW9, at 6:15pm on Tuesday, 23 February after reports of a stabbing. James was found with serious stab wounds and was rushed to hospital. He is currently stable but faces a slow recovery from life-changing injuries.
Police Urge Witnesses to Step Forward
Detective Sergeant Charlotte Carter, leading the investigation, said: “I am continuing to appeal for any witnesses to come forward and speak with my team. We are particularly keen for anyone with phone or dashcam footage.”
She added, “Any piece of information could prove to be vital.”
