£50k Cash Stash and Stolen Vehicles Seized in Purfleet Police Raid
Detectives uncovered a treasure trove of crime during a major raid in Purfleet. The haul included stolen haulage containers, off-road vehicles, and a whopping £50,000 in cash.
Fresh Stolen Container Dumped Hours Before Bust
One of the containers, stolen just before 3:30am the same day, was found on the yard. Police swiftly returned it and its contents to the rightful owner.

- £15,000 seized from warrants at the haulage yard and two Havering homes.
- Police dogs sniffed out an additional £50,000 in a vehicle, now seized as criminal proceeds.
- Three stolen off-road vehicles hidden inside another container were recovered.
Multi-Force Crackdown Nabs Four Suspects
The operation on 18 May was led by the Met’s East Area Drug Focus Desk, with backup from British Transport Police and Essex Police. The Purfleet site was linked to an organised crime gang.
A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of carrying a Section 5 firearm and later released under investigation. Meanwhile, a 46-year-old man and 42-year-old woman were arrested in Havering on firearms and drug charges; both were bailed with court dates set for late June.
A 32-year-old man also faced drug supply allegations and was released pending further inquiries.
“The evidence and intel we seized is just a snapshot of the criminality out there,” said Detective Sgt Owen Morgan. “We’ll keep hunting down these networks to protect our communities.”
