Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Oldham Hit-and-Run

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a shocking hit-and-run in Oldham.

Life-Changing Injuries in Whitehouse Avenue Crash

Police were called at 8:20pm on Friday, 14 May after a car collided with a pedestrian on Whitehouse Avenue. The victim, a man in his 40s, was rushed to hospital with life-changing leg injuries.

Suspects Arrested as Investigation Continues

Jamil Ahmed, 36, from Thurland Road, Oldham, was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He’s been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Minshull Street Crown Court on 17 June 2021.

A second man, aged 31, was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
