Knife-Wielding Man Jailed for Rampage Attacking Teen and Damaging Cars

Connor Silver, 28, was locked up after a violent spree in Lower Northdown Avenue last May. The rampage left a 14-year-old girl injured and caused thousands in damage.

Brutal Attack on Teen and Woman

Police were called to a disturbance on the evening of Saturday 23 May 2020. Silver was found guilty of unlawful wounding and assault after a trial. He had already admitted possession of a knife and five counts of criminal damage.

On the day, Silver confronted a teenage girl, shouting at her not to come down the road. He then smashed a paving slab into her face, causing a cut that needed hospital treatment. Moments later, he punched a woman walking nearby.

Violence and Vandalism on Rampage

  • Silver hurled bricks and building materials at passing cars, smashing one for £3,000 in damage.
  • He also damaged another car’s door and wing mirror.
  • When police arrived, Silver attacked their patrol car, damaging the windscreen and bonnet.
  • A knife, seen in his hand during the chaos, was recovered at the scene.

Three Years Behind Bars

Sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court on Friday 21 May 2021, Silver is now serving three years and 80 days.

“Silver’s behaviour would have been terrifying for the girl and woman who he assaulted and it is very fortunate that both of them did not suffer more serious injuries,” said Detective Constable Mark Huttley.

“Silver refused to admit his wrongdoing, drawing out the pain for his victims. I thank them for supporting our work in bringing this man to justice.”

“I hope the conclusion of the case and the fact that Silver is now behind bars will give them a sense that justice has been done.”
