Motorcyclist Dies in Horror Crash on Whiterails Road
Tragedy struck on Thursday evening when a collision between a car and a motorbike left 31-year-old Samuel Gibbons dead. The smash happened at 6.45pm on Whiterails Road, Wootton.
Samuel, from Newport, was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital but sadly couldn’t be saved.
Family Pays Heartbreaking Tribute
“Sam was a caring father, son, brother, nephew, uncle, grandson and friend. He would have helped anyone if he could.
“He had a real passion for bikes and was always getting his hands dirty. Sam started out as a mechanic, and everyone knew him as the go-to guy for help – it was truly in his blood.
“It’s a bittersweet tragedy. Sam had recently battled through tough times and said, ‘I had a hard road to go down but I managed to turn things around, and I’m now the best version of me I’ve ever been.’
“He will be dearly missed by so many and leaves behind two young children, their mother, his father, and five siblings.”
