Victim Threatened and Robbed After Giving Lift on Kent Road

Man in 60s Assaulted in Blue Volkswagen Polo

On Wednesday 25 August 2021, a man in his 60s gave a lift to a suspect in a blue Volkswagen Polo, heading towards Ashford on the A251.

During the journey, the suspect suddenly assaulted the victim. The car then stopped in the middle of the road just before the M2 slip road at junction 6.

Victim Forced Out as Car Drives Off

The victim was threatened and forced out of the vehicle. The suspect then drove off alone. Police later found the Volkswagen in the Lydd area the same day.

Man Arrested Over Robbery, Police Seek Witnesses

A 52-year-old man from Romney Marsh was arrested on suspicion of robbery. He is currently on bail until 17 September, pending further investigation.

Detectives believe drivers or witnesses on the A251 between 4pm and 5pm may have crucial information or dashcam footage.
