Coastguard and Lifeboat Join Forces in Folkestone Welfare Search

Two Coastguard Search and Rescue teams from Dover and Folkestone sprang into action on Sunday after a relative raised concerns about a man’s welfare at Sunny Sands, Folkestone.

Massive Shoreline Search Launched

Kent Police called in the coastguard to comb the rocks and bay. Meanwhile, the Dover all-weather lifeboat, out on training nearby, was redirected to scour the pier, the Leas, and the surrounding area.

Search Called Off After Man Found Safe

After a two-hour effort, the search was called off. Officers confirmed the man was safe and sound at home.

Police arrived shortly after 10am to begin the search once concerns were raised.

Kent Police have been approached for comment.
