Toddler Shot in Brooklyn Daycare Drive-By

A terrifying shooting rocked a Brownsville, Brooklyn neighbourhood on Friday evening. A toddler was hit in the shoulder while leaving a daycare on 127 Riverdale Avenue around 6pm ET.

Gunman in BMW Opens Fire

Police say one of the suspects was driving a BMW. The gunman opened fire as the child was leaving the daycare.

Thankfully, the little girl is expected to survive, although she was injured in the shoulder.

Not the Intended Target, Says Police

Authorities believe the child was not the intended target in the shooting.

“This is the third child injured by gunfire in as many months,” NYPD Chief of Department Kenneth Corey told reporters outside the daycare centre.

The tragedy follows a separate incident on Monday when a 7-year-old girl was also shot while with her mother on a Brooklyn street corner.
