Man Arrested for Arson After Fire in Margate Home
Kent Police were called to Sandhurst Place, Margate, at around 6.20pm on Friday 27 May 2022. They joined forces with Kent Fire and Rescue Service to tackle a blaze at a local property.
Suspect in Custody
Apputhurai Gunapalasingam, 56, from Sandhurst Place, was arrested and charged with arson with intent to endanger life. He faced Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 30 May, where he was remanded in custody.
Next Court Date Set
Gunapalasingam’s case will return to Canterbury Crown Court on a date yet to be confirmed as the investigation continues.
