The comedian developed a close bond with an American Bulldog on his show Paul O’Grady for the Love of Dogs: What Happened Next.
However, things became very difficult after introducing Tulip into his life because the puppy did not get along with Paul’s other dogs. Paul was unsettled by her sudden outbursts and constant barking, and he was forced to make a difficult decision.
Paul made the heartbreaking decision to return Tulip to Battersea Dogs Home because he had no other choice. As he bid her farewell, the broadcaster had to fight back tears. Later in the episode, Paul revisited Tulip’s story and was overjoyed to learn that she had been adopted.
After a three-month hiatus, Paul has recently returned to his regular radio duties. He captioned an Instagram photo of himself at the Chelsea Flower Show, “No, I don’t have a stall flogging flowers, I’m at the Chelsea Flower Show.
“On this photo, I appear to have been up to something, but I assure you that I have not. I was repeatedly asked by the press if I enjoyed gardening, but I had to admit that if I go into a garden centre, the plants wilt in fear of being purchased.
“However, I had a fantastic day with some of my favourite people and couldn’t believe the stunning garden designs and the most beautiful flowers that could only have been grown by a magician.”
Many of his fans are overjoyed at his return. One commenter said: “”I’m glad you’re back on the radio,” said one, while another added, “I’m glad you’re back on Radio 2.” Sundays have not been the same since.” “Was good to hear you back on the radio yesterday,” a third typed.
