The incident occurred at 21.00 on Thursday, March 17, on Newfoundland Road in Bristol.
The offender met the victim on Stapleton Road before leading her to the Newfoundland Road bridge, where he assaulted her.
Officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information that can aid their investigation.
In the CCTV footage, he is seen wearing a snake-style ring on his finger, a black coat, and a black hat with a logo on the front.
