Man Targeted in Shocking Acid Attack on Oldham Doorstep

Police were called after a man was sprayed with a substance believed to be acid outside his home in Oldham late on Wednesday, May 11.

Victim Doused with Liquid at Front Door

The 39-year-old victim answered his door on Burlington Avenue just before 10.40pm when another man hurled liquid from a bottle at him. The attacker then fled down Manley Road. It’s thought the victim arrived at the address with a male companion.

Severe Burns, But Released from Hospital

Emergency crews treated the man at the scene before rushing him to hospital with serious burns to his face, shoulder, and chest. Thankfully, he has since been discharged.

Police Release E-Fit, Appeal for Witnesses

Oldham CID detectives believe the attack was deliberate and that the victim and suspect know each other. No arrests have been made yet.

“We urge anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit to come forward. Your information could be vital,” police said.
