Terrace House in Flames: Fire Rips Through Gardens and Properties
A section of a terraced house ground floor, converted into flats, has gone up in flames. The fire quickly spread to the back garden fencing and even engulfed sheds and fences in neighbouring properties.
Explosion Risk as Propane Cylinders Removed
Firefighters acted swiftly to cool and remove propane cylinders on site, aware they could explode if heated. London Ambulance crews treated one woman at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Commanders Battle Blazing Backyards Amid Traffic Chaos
“The fire has destroyed several gardens and back yards of neighbouring homes,” said Keith Sanders, the station commander on scene. “Our crews are working hard to contain the blaze and prevent any further spread.”
Motorists are urged to avoid the area due to heavy traffic caused by the emergency response.
Massive Emergency Response & Cause Unknown
The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers logged 31 calls reporting the fire. Fire stations in East Ham, Plaistow, Leytonstone, Poplar, Millwall, Dagenham, and nearby areas sprang into action after the call came in at 1.30pm.
Officials have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
