Three Men Nabbed After Suspicious Breakdown on Queens Drive

Three men landed in cuffs after cops spotted dodgy behaviour while helping stranded motorists on Queens Drive, Clifton, just after 10pm on July 8.

Officers Smell Trouble Amidst Broken-Down Car

Patrol officers stopped to check on a car pulled over late at night. The vehicle had apparently broken down, but the scene quickly turned sketchy. Police detected a strong smell of alcohol inside the car.

Things escalated when one officer was kicked and spat at — though luckily, he escaped without injury.

Arrests Made for Assault, Weapons, Drunk Driving & Drugs

  • 31-year-old: Arrested for assaulting an officer, drunk and disorderly conduct, driving under the influence, and carrying an offensive weapon.
  • 34-year-old: Held on suspicion of offensive weapon possession, breach of peace, drunk and disorderly behaviour, intoxicated driving, and having class B drugs.
  • 48-year-old: Arrested for carrying an offensive weapon and driving while intoxicated.

All three remain in custody as police probe the incident.

Police Praise Sharp Instincts Preventing Potential Disaster

“Thanks to the officer’s instincts in spotting something wasn’t right, dangerous weapons were seized and a possible road traffic accident was averted,” said Detective Inspector Jon Kerry of Nottinghamshire Police.

He added, “Police and emergency workers should never have to face assault while just doing their job. Anyone attacking officers will be caught and dealt with.”
