Mum Stabbed to Death in Margate: Family Left Devastated

Megan Murphy is scrambling to support her aunt Samantha Murphy’s three children after their mother was tragically murdered in the early hours yesterday.

Late-Night Attack in Margate

At around 3.10 a.m., Kent Police were called to a property on Elfrida Close, Margate, following reports of a woman being assaulted. Officers and ambulance crews found 37-year-old Samantha with fatal stab wounds. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Heartbroken Family Launches Fundraiser

Samantha leaves behind her three children: nine-year-old Brooke, fourteen-year-old Ellie, and 22-year-old Tommy Lee. Megan, who lost her own mother to cancer in 2020, is urgently fundraising to ease the financial burden of the funeral and support the grieving kids.

“We don’t know what happened yet, but it’s being investigated as murder. I hope we can give her a fitting send-off,” Megan said. “You did not deserve this, Aunty Sam, and we will seek justice for you. Please keep our broken family, especially my baby cousins, in your thoughts and prayers.”

The 20-year-old added, “We just want to raise as much money for our poor cousins as we can for the funeral and to help with financial stress.”

Two Arrested in Connection With Murder

The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of murder yesterday. A woman in her 20s was also detained for murder and assisting a criminal. Police continue forensic investigations at a nearby property on West Dumpton Lane, Ramsgate.
