Vulnerable Gran Robbed After Refusing Hedge-Cutting Offer
On the morning of August 6, 2022, a man rocked up at the home of an elderly woman in Rempstone Road, claiming he could cut her hedges. She said no, but shockingly, he still got inside her house.
Feeling scared and intimidated, the woman opened her purse in front of him. The crook snatched £180 and legged it, without doing any hedge trimming whatsoever.
Police Hunt ‘Hedge-Cutting’ Thief
“This offence targeted a vulnerable elderly victim,” said Poole police Constable Sophia Winborn. “We are working hard to find the man responsible.”
Officers released images of a man they want to ID. They’re urging anyone who knows him to speak up.
Silver Van Seen Near Scene
Witnesses spotted a small silver van with orange writing nearby when the theft happened. Police want anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage showing the vehicle or suspect to come forward.
Police Appeal for Other Victims
Constable Winborn also asked: “Has anyone else in the area been approached like this?”
