Milk Mayhem in M&S and More: Activists cause chaos across London, Norwich, and Edinburgh stores on Saturday before noon. Furious shoppers looked on as gallons of milk were dumped in top supermarkets.
Milk Dumped in Marks & Spencer and Harrods
Protesters targeted Waitrose, Whole Foods, and Marks & Spencer outlets in London, Norwich, and Edinburgh. Footage shows demonstrators pouring milk from shelves at Norwich’s M&S, shocking customers. At Harrods’ Knightsbridge food hall, activists repeated the stunt, while Fortnum & Mason in Piccadilly saw milk emptied across cheese displays.
“This is not how I expected to spend my weekend,” said Lou Hadden, a Herefordshire charity worker involved in the Fortnum & Mason protest.
Four Arrested as Police Crack Down
Norwich Police confirmed four suspects were arrested for assault and criminal damage following the disruption. The dramatic scenes left many customers stunned and stores scrambling to clean up the mess.
Protesters Demand Plant-Based Policies
Animal Rebellion, behind the stunt, say bold action is needed. They urge a switch to plant-based diets, citing advice from top climate scientists from Oxford, Harvard, and the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change).
“Unfortunately, this disruption is required for those in power to listen,” said Lou Hadden. “The world’s leading experts call for a shift to a plant-based food system.”
Skylar Sharples, a bristol/" title="Bristol" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Bristol graduate protesting at Harrods, added: “Supporters are back because Liz Truss and Ranil Jayawardena keep ignoring calls to build a better future. A plant-based future means a world bursting with nature and life.”
Public Reaction: Mixed and Heated
Online responses divided. One Twitter user blasted the protest as “impossible to defend,” sparking fresh debate over the activists’ controversial tactics.
