The incident took place in south Belfast on Friday afternoon, 28th October.
Detective Sergeant McVeagh said: “At approximately 2.45pm, a number of
masked men entered a property through the back door in the McAuley Street
area.
“A male occupant of the property sustained a cut to his head with a bladed
instrument as the suspects made their way into the house. He also suffered
an injury to his hand.
“The suspects then made off with a sum of cash and a quantity of
prescription medication.
“This was a terrifying experience for the occupant of the property who
required medical treatment for his injuries. Our investigation is now
underway to establish what happened, who was involved and a motive.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time, and saw
anything suspicious, to call detectives on 101, quoting reference number
1477 of 28/10/22.”
