Two Teens Stabbed to Death in Shocking South East London Attacks
Tragedy struck Abbey Wood and Thamesmead on Saturday evening as two 16-year-old boys were fatally stabbed at separate locations just minutes apart. The horrific attacks unfolded around 5.10pm on 26 November.
Double Stabbings in Abbey Wood and Thamesmead
Police rushed to Sewell Road, Abbey Wood and Titmuss Avenue, Thamesmead after urgent calls about two stabbing victims. At each scene, officers found a teenage boy suffering from stab wounds. Despite rapid response from London Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance crews, both boys tragically died.
The victims were named today as Charlie Bartolo and Kearne Solanke. Specialist officers are supporting their families at this heartbreaking time. Police have appealed for privacy out of respect for the grieving relatives.
Investigation Continues as Police Seek Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said:
“This is a positive development in what is a complex and fast-moving investigation. Charlie and Kearne’s families have been informed.
“Our investigation is ongoing and we continue to appeal for the public’s help as we build a picture of what happened on Saturday night. If you have information, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, please come forward.”
Police Hunt Dark SUV Seen Near Attack Sites
Detective Superintendent Richard McDonagh urged London communities to help stop the violence:
“Tackling violence is a priority for the Met. Days like today show why that is so important, and why I must again ask all of London’s communities to work with us, and our partners, so that we are doing all that we can together to prevent such tragedies.”
He added officers are searching for witnesses who saw a dark-coloured SUV or 4×4 with distinctive silver roof bars near Sewell Road or Titmuss Avenue around the days leading to the murders.
