Predator Spies on Kids Days After Prison Release
Neill Cuthbertson, 57, was caught prowling and spying on children just weeks after getting out of jail. The creepy paedo snooped on a 12-year-old girl and her brother in their Herne Hill garden – violating his strict conditions. Today (December 2), he was slammed with another 32 months behind bars for his “very serious and persistent” offences.
Stalking Kids in Public and Private
Cuthbertson had been freed on August 28 after a 4.5-year stint for assaulting a young girl. He was ordered to stay away from children and placed in temporary housing. But he ignored this completely.
- On September 8, he cheekily hung around a man and his four-year-old granddaughter at Croydon’s Centrale Shopping Centre, lurking near the kids’ play area.
- The very next night at 10:58pm, police spotted him sneaking into a front garden in Herne Hill, peering through a window.
- He returned the following evening and was arrested after trying to flee plainclothes officers.
Prosecutor Luke Bowyer revealed police found white gloves, binoculars, and a face print on the window where Cuthbertson pressed himself against a children’s playroom.
Victims’ Families Terrified
“The incident was incredibly disturbing. We felt overwhelming relief that he was caught,” said the father of the two terrified children.
Cuthbertson’s criminal record dates back to 1992, with a chilling history of stalking, indecent exposure, and sexual assaults on young girls. Highlights include:
- Seven years for breaking into a nine-year-old girl’s home and groping her over clothing.
- Eight years after assaulting another young girl in Thornton Heath.
- Multiple counts of photographing children in changing rooms and inappropriate contact on social media.
Judge Brands Cuthbertson Dangerous
Recorder William Featherby KC didn’t mince words during sentencing. He slammed Cuthbertson’s excuses and highlighted the sinister nature of using binoculars and gloves.
“I completely reject your excuse that you were being followed; that doesn’t explain why you were at the property twice or why you pressed against the window,” said the judge.
He warned Cuthbertson is “too dangerous to be left at large” and refused a suspended sentence. The 57-year-old from South Norwood was jailed for 32 months, with his previous sexual harm prevention orders lasting for life.
