Man Dies After Detention at Manston Migrant Centre

Husean Hseb, 31, has been named as the man who died last month after spending a week detained at the Manston migrant processing centre in Kent. The Kurdish man was battling diphtheria at the time.

Inquest Opens into Tragic Death

The inquest into Hseb’s death opened this morning in Maidstone. Evidence revealed he was rushed to A&E on November 14th, unable to eat or drink. Although treated, he was sent back to Manston.

Health Deteriorated Rapidly

  • On November 19th, Hseb was admitted again with worsening shortness of breath.
  • Blood tests showed multiple organ failure.
