Thieves Target Cars Across Thanet – Cash, Tools, and Bags Snatched
Crime alert in Thanet! On 16 June 2023, two men were spotted trying car doors in Birchington. Just two days later, cash vanished from a car parked on Roxburgh Road, Westgate-on-Sea.
More Thefts Hit Westgate and Ramsgate
The bad news didn’t stop there. On 18 June, thieves broke into a van on Beach Road, Westgate-on-Sea, stealing valuable tools. Then on 20 June, a handbag was snatched from a car in Brecon Square, Ramsgate.
Police Urge Drivers to Lock Up and Stay Alert
Inspector Jim Woodward from the Thanet Community Safety Unit gave a stark warning: “Remove anything valuable from your vehicle when away. Leave nothing on show.”
He added, “Always lock your doors and close windows fully. If you can, park in garages, well-lit, secure car parks, or CCTV-covered areas.”
