Quick Cops Nab Crawley Car Thief in Daring Street Sting!
Sussex Police Strike Fast in Crawley
Sussex Police say they might not be everywhere at once, but they can appear anywhere, anytime. That proved true when officers spotted a man leaning into a car that wasn’t his in Crawley.
James Eastwood Busted for Multiple Crimes
The 37-year-old, homeless James Eastwood, was quickly connected to several crimes. Police swooped, arresting him for a string of offences including possession of cocaine and cannabis, theft from vehicles, burglary with intent, obstructing police, and abusive behaviour likely to cause alarm.
Court Appearance & Ongoing Grievous Bodily Harm Charge
On July 5, Eastwood pleaded guilty at Crawley Magistrates’ Court to the litany of charges. However, he denies causing grievous bodily harm, an accusation pending trial while he remains in custody.
Police Praise Swift Action and Victim Support
“Theft and burglary cause concern in local communities and on social media,” said Oli Robinson from Crawley CID. “This fast police work led to recovering items from at least two victims, ready to be returned.”
