Predator Caught in Child Sex Sting
Sebastian Kacper Wojcik thought he was chatting up underage girls online. But the “girls” were actually undercover cops from the Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Organised Crime Unit (YH ROCU).
Guilty of Multiple Child Sex Crimes
The 30-year-old from Gold Street, Northampton, was found guilty of several offences committed between 20 January and 6 February this year. Charges included:
- Attempting to communicate sexually with a child
- Arranging or facilitating a child sex offence
- Possession and distribution of indecent images of children
On Friday 7 July, Northampton Crown Court sentenced Wojcik to 25 months behind bars. He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years and handed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Investigation and Police Statements
The investigation was a joint effort with Northamptonshire Police. Det Chief Inspector Al Burns from YH ROCU said:
“Wojcik tried to contact children for his own sexual gratification. But he didn’t realise he was engaging with our officers. I’m pleased the court has delivered a sentence reflecting the seriousness of his crimes. The Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit is determined to bring predators like Wojcik to justice.”
Lead Investigator PC Holly Morgan from Northamptonshire Police added:
“Some content on Wojcik’s phones dated back over ten years, showing a sustained sexual interest in children. We’re pleased to have caught him attempting to contact children and secured this jail sentence. Protecting children in Northamptonshire is a top priority, and cases like this prove our commitment to bringing offenders to justice.”
